Clearwater's Country Music Takeover

By Editorial Desk ·

From Country Thunder to Willie Nelson, Clearwater is the unexpected capital of country music this May.

Dust off your boots. Clearwater is transforming into the Gulf Coast's unexpected country music capital this May.

With the massive Country Thunder Florida festival dropping its three-day lineup at Coachman Park (May 8-10) and the legendary Willie Nelson & Family rolling into The BayCare Sound just a week later (May 17), there has never been a better time to be a country music fan in Pinellas County.

The Main Events

Country Thunder Florida brings an absolutely stacked lineup to the waterfront. With Zach Top, Gavin Adcock, and Kane Brown headlining, it's three days of high-energy performances.

The following weekend, the iconic Willie Nelson graces the stage at The BayCare Sound. Experiencing Willie's legendary guitar, Trigger, under the open Florida sky is a bucket-list moment.

Where to Keep the Party Going

If you're making a weekend out of it, you'll need the right spots to pre-game, recover, or keep the music going.

  • Shephard's Beach Resort: If you're not ready to call it a night after the encore, head to Shephard's. Known for its legendary waterfront entertainment and Tiki Beach Bar, it's the perfect spot to keep the live music vibes flowing.
  • Island Way Grill: Looking for an upscale dinner before the show? Island Way Grill offers some of the best fresh seafood and sushi in Clearwater, complete with stunning harbor views. It's the perfect pre-concert dinner spot.
  • Bar Tiki Clearwater Beach: For a more laid-back, tropical vibe, Bar Tiki offers fantastic craft cocktails and outdoor seating. It's a great place to unwind and rehydrate (with a piña colada, of course) after a long day in the sun at Coachman Park.

Whether you're here for the whole weekend or just a single night, Clearwater's May lineup is not to be missed.
